There are many advantages to training to fly an airplane, such as the Cessna 172, in a Cessna 172 simulator. In fact, here are ten very good reasons:
1. Operating a Cessna 172 simulator is much cheaper than flying its real life counterpart.
2. You have the flexibility to train using a simulator while keeping both feet on the ground.
4. With a simulator, you have the ability to save, pause, rewind, and replay your flight sessions.
5. You can predefine several different scenarios to fly, on demand, immediately.
6. You save time by skipping over the work of preflighting the plane, getting clearance for take off from a control tower, and taking off to climb , and taking the time to land, if you are only practicing aerial maneuvers.
7. A Cessna 172 simulator, without a doubt, can help you save a great deal of time that would you be spending to train in a real airplane, since you will already no doubt be familiar with how to maneuver the airplane, based on your experience operating the simulator.
8. You have the liberty to practice multiple maneuvers, to be able to evaluate their outcomes in a simulator, that you may otherwise be reluctant to try in an actual airplane. Spins are a a good example of this. Many student pilots may never practice performing a spin, because of the apparent risks involved. A simulator lets you eliminate the risk, allowing you to practice whatever procedures you wish.
9. You can simulate aviating in different weather conditions, times of day, and seasons anytime you want.
10. You are free to fly the simulator anytime you wish, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, without being concerned about the airplane not being available, it being down for repairs, the instructor not being available, or the weather not being favorable for you to practice flying in. The simulator flies anytime you want it to, not the other way around.
You may have valid reasons for being unable to fly an actual airplane, or being unable to train as often as you would like to, such as it being too expensive for your budget, or such as it being the middle of winter when there are too many days you cannot fly, or if you have other commitments that keep you from spending your spare time flying.
What the Cessna 172 simulator does for you is empower you to practice on a simulator for a mere fraction of the cost, so that when you do finally get to go flying, you will be up to speed on your skills and will have less review to do.
