How to Optimize Windows Vista Performance - Easy Ways To Repair Your Windows To Work As Good As New

Did you have any idea, by upgrading to Microsoft Windows Vista, or setting up a brand new machine that came preinstalled with Vista, you would be Googling, looking for tips with how to optimize Windows Vista performance?

Sholdn't Vista essentially BE the "optimized" sequel to the Windows XP OS/the XP operating system?

Instead, the entire IT community across the planet is shocked that Vista is cursed with its own performance and stability flaws. No wonder millions of people and corporations across the world are thinking twice before committing to upgrade to Vista and are instead opting to stay on XP.

Many people and corporations have even considered DOWNGRADING to Windows XP off of Vista. While this may seem like a sound idea, it is not feasible for everybody. So for the rest of us who must stay on Windows Vista, here are some tips how to optimize Windows Vista performance:

- You must optimize and repair the Windows registry.

- Other strategies for optimization, such as running spyware or virus scans might work, and do have their rightful spot in the debugging process. So do other ideas such as hard drive defragmenting, disk space and memory management. Yet the most likely suspect in the search for the root cause of a huge percentage of all Windows Vista performance problems is the registry.

- The Windows registry is the central database which the the operating system uses to store practically all all of the configuration parameters for all hardware and software associated with the computer. Over the course of time, this database can get corrupted and unoptimized. When this happens, Vista tends to become unstable and slow down.

- Using a registry cleaning tool will scour the registry for inefficiencies and errors and will correct them, within seconds. This process typically only needs a few minutes. The outcome is a much faster and vastly more efficient computer, as well as a lightening fast web experience.

Optimizing the Windows registry is one of the most often overlooked aspects of running the Windows environment in optimal state, to keep it processing at peak performance. You remember to take your car in for a change of oil and a tune up on a routine basis, don't you? In the same respect, your computer needs to be tuned up routinely, to keep it running optimally too. Failure to do so over the course of time leads to severe performance quality of the computing experience: The Internet web browser will run sluggishly, pages taking forever to finish loading, the computer will take seemingly forever to launch, the machine may ignore your request to to turn off, applications may freeze for several seconds at a time with no explanation, or might even crash suddenly without advanced warning, and your browser may be plagued with pop-up banner ads that continuously respawning themselves no matter how much you try to clean up the operating system.

The Windows registry is like your computer's "DNA". Each key / value pair is like one of the pairs of chromosomes on the DNA strand, that controls each and every one of the operating system's functions. If any of the data bits in the registry were to be corrupted then it can bring down your entire operating system, in the similar way that a chromosome mutation can inevitably lead to the outbreak of cancer.

And, to extend the DNA analogy for what its worth, the ideal "cure for cancer" of the system is to clean the Windows registry database using software to repair , whose goal is to "ward off" the corrupted registry entries by cleaning and optimizing the registry, and repairing any broken links it contains.

Give your operating system a free registry scan and you will reap the joy of a far more optimized, stable, robust, and faster computer with these tehcniques to optimize Windows Vista performance.

great article! I HATE/DESPISE/ABHOR Windows Vista. It truly sucks as an OS. Just as soon as I can afford to do so, I'll buy W7! Thanks.

Indeed you are right Jacques, Windows XP is still the most proficient operating system for a PC. Unfortunately, Windows 7 is really nothing more than a jazzed up version of Vista, and as far as business applications go, XP will remain the best Windows OS until Microsoft finally gets the picture and upgrades XP instead of trying to add all the unnesessary fluff and frustration Vista and 7 have.

Heard what a headache Vista was and didn't buy - still have XP and am quite happy with that. Your piece made me realize that perhaps I made a good choice even if I don't have the latest (which has already been replaced, right? How is the new version?) Marijo

I like the DNA analogy. Good way to engage me and others in your topic.

I run the Regcure system about once a week, is this often enough? I know this will sound silly, but just chalk it up to my being a woman. Do you think I should try to get the dust out of my computer, maybe by running the vacuum over the air holes? Stop laughing! It could be that dust is slowing it down you know. Okay- I don't guess I'll do that, but it still sounds like a good idea to me. Bye, and thanks for the info- Ella

It sure can't hurt to vacuum the dust out, I suppose. Running a registry scan should be done frequently. Once a week is good. Daily is even better, or at least once every time you restart your computer.
